Student Writers - Cool Chronicles - Sept 10th

Cool Chronicles
by
Saye Traore and Nathan Santos

In Spanish we have been learning all the colors. And in science we are using and learning about microscopes like we’re using newspaper clippings and microfiches.      Sometimes we’re reading THE CITY OF EMBER so far we’re at the part where the little girl is remembering about how her parents died and the author is talking about how it’s only her grandma, her little sister and herself. WARNING MATH TEST ON FRIDAY.

In science we have been studying and using microscopes. In Spanish we are working on using sentences. In P.E. we are on our Frisbee unit and we are working on throwing Frisbees. In math we are now working on factor strings and powers of a number.

The Pluto Party

By
Kennedy Menzel
Marsha is a Marshan from Mars. Born on Mars in a city called Marshanville. One day she got invited to a disco party on Pluto. The invite was luckily written in her language called- Marlin. Her language is very complicated. All the little Marshans had to learn it at age 1. Anyway, back to the party. She couldn’t wait! She picked out a beautiful turquoise dress with little transparent sequins all over. Her shoes were purple with bedazzled heals and everything! I went downstairs to show off to my sister and parents. But about halfway down the stairs I realized I didn’t have a ride to the party! I couldn’t possibly get one now I had to leave! But then my dad shouted for me to come down so I got really nervous. I couldn’t tell them I didn’t have a ride! I was in deep trouble.
I zipped down the stairs drank a big glass of cranberry juice and that’s when my mom told me she got a limo for me. I couldn’t believe how great my parents were to do that. I leaped out the door with joy. I was so excited because my parents had also arranged for my friend Marsh to come with me. “Now I will have a dance partner!” I squealed. I probably freaked a couple of people out by my screaming and weird faces. I looked like I was going to explode!  Really, I looked really weird. I know on Earth you guys have those weird limos with wheels but ours are space shuttles with fancy activities set for 2. Marsh and I couldn’t wait to get there we were like Kindergarteners asking are we there yet?
When we got there we suddenly didn’t want to stay. There were people acting like we were from Neptune or something. I went crazy and suddenly yelled, “What, we’re not from Neptune!” “We were invited and we are not leaving!”
That’s when I realized we were just making a pit stop we were on Jupiter. Some guy starting creeping toward us with a fist I got super scared.
I started screaming my head off and running around and I had no interest in getting hurt before a party. My dad tried to protect me but he got thrown of the surface. Then Marsh did a great job throwing all but one guy off the surface. The guy he left was probably the strongest fastest and most hurtful person in the Milky Way. Luckily he didn’t want anything to do with us. He just wanted to be left alone and eat his potato chips. So we left him alone and all went our own ways, Us trying to get back to Mars and him trying to eat a sandwich with everything on it. A big sandwich!
